Audi Club of Arizona Autocross Day with Porsche

We had our first ever autocross event this past weekend at Tempe Diablo Stadium. We combined forces with the Porsche Club of Arizona who hosts these events regularly, and had a nice turnout of familiar faces and new ones. There were three members who chose to drive including myself (above), a TTRS, and Frederick’s Fiat Abarth (it’s a bit more nimble than his A8L, his other car, so natually a better choice for autocross…). It was our first time testing an event like this, and it went very smoothly thanks to the Porsche Club being well organized and experienced with events like this in the past. The drivers meeting started around 9am and driving last until mid-afternoon…We had three cars drive and about a dozen cars show up in total.

The event included instructors for first-timers, something I benefitted from greatly. Only one car per time was allowed on the course, which kept the event very safe, fun, and approachable for complete novices.

Several members also came to the event just to “check it out” and see what it was all about, which was great! I happened to take pictures of their Audis looking spectacular in the paddock.

Thanks to everyone who participated, and we hope to see even more of you at the next one!
