Canyon Series // Grand Canyon Overnight Drive – May 2nd – 3rd

For those who haven’t been able to attend an overnight drive or one of our signature Canyon Series drives, here is a peek into the spectacular weekend planned for our Grand Canyon Drive:

The Audi Club Grand Canyon Drive is nearly here and it looks like the weather will be terrific for this spectacular weekend event. This is the third event in our Canyon Drive Series, the route takes us to some of the most famous and most beautiful scenery in the United States. It will be a drive on incredible roads with Kodak moments at every turn.
Our adventure will start from Carefree Highway and I17 with a check-in at the McDonalds parking area by 8:30 AM. Departure on the drive will be 9:00 AM sharp.  The drive itinerary takes us to beautiful Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona for lunch followed by a spectacular drive north of Flagstaff to the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Valle.  Following a tour of the museum we travel up Rt 64 to Tusayan and the Best Western Hotel. Dinner will be in the main restaurant at the famous El Tovar Hotel on the rim of the Grand Canyon in the Grand Canyon National Park.
On Sunday we re-enter the Grand Canyon National Park and enjoy stops at a number of the scenic overlooks.  We exit the park to the East and enjoy lunch at the famous Cameron Trading Post.  After lunch and a little shopping at the trading post, we travel south on Rt 89 for a visit to the Wutapaki National Monument Indian ruins.  We will travel the loop road south and pass by Sunset Crater with a quick stop at the ancient lava flows. From there it is on to Flagstaff and south on I17 to Phoenix.
For those who have not made their reservations at the Best Western Grand Squire Inn in Tusayan, please do so quickly. If unavailable there are other hotels in Tusayan you can call. If you have any questions regarding the drive, please connect with Gerry Dale,  480-773-5616 or [email protected].
